Meeting Summary
February 4, 2004

| Learning & Enrichment: A guest speaker,
Willie Evatz of Crown Financial Ministries, discussed stewardship.
His group teaches "Godly financial purposes." According
to Mr. Evatz, studying stewardship is important because it will
help people learn that stewardship is not about money, but about
changing lives.

| Discussion Items: Needs of Parish Council --
The parish council will have anywhere from one to four vacancies
this year. The current members discussed the qualities and
characteristics needed in potential candidates, such as dedication
and commitment. It is important that the Council be representative
of the entire faith community of the parish.

| Decision Items:
|
1) Lenten Project - Fr. Tony recommended that
council adopt the Procop House as its cause for the annual Lenten
Project. The Procop House offers affordable housing to men who are
transitioning from homelessness to a responsible place in the
community. Passed unanimously.
2) Nominating Committee - Carolyn Meyer, Andy McLinden, and Mike French
volunteered to serve as the Nominating Committee to identify
future Parish Council members.

Reporting Items:
1. Pastor's Report - Fr. Tony discussed the next
steps in the Vibrant Parish Life process.
2. Liturgy Committee - Marge Naumann reported
that the Parish's Liturgy Committee has combined with the
Community's Liturgy Committee for liturgy planning for Lent, Holy
Week and the Easter season. This is working well and the Liturgy
Committee is excited about the upcoming Lenten season.
3. Spiritual Development - Anna Maria Masterson
reported that St. Malachi will offer a speakers' series on
Wednesdays in March called "Reviving Our Spirit."
4. Malachi Center - Cathy Saegel reported on the
Homelessness Marathon to be held on February 12, 2004 at the
Center and on the annual "Soup for Soul" benefit
scheduled for April 1, 2004 Le Centre in Westlake.
5. Stewardship - Anna Maria Masterson reported on
the continuing progress of the Stewardship committee, which plans
to introduce a stewardship program for the parish this fall.
