CSM LEADERSHIP DISCERNED

With a discernment process conducted during its June 7 meeting, the Community of St. Malachi Council named Jim Connell and Kay Vine to continue as president and vice president, respectively, for the 2007-2008 year.

In other activity at that meeting, as reported by Kay Vine: * The CSM 2007-08 budget was approved as previously distributed to the membership. * Rick Bluett was affirmed to take a seat on the CSM Finance Council for the fiscal year 2008. * Following updates on the school lease issue, a motion was approved to move ahead on negotiations with Lakeside College Preparatory Academy. * Discussion will continue as to how to solicit input from all areas of CSM membership re the Clustering Process. * A vote approved giving a $100 stipend to a student going on a Dominican Republic mission trip.

At the end of the business meeting, CSM Council members whose terms were expiring were applauded and current members remained to enter into a leadership discernment process. According to KV, “The process, graciously and energetically led by Lou Keim – (many thanks, Lou!) – was prayerful, thoughtful, and a time for members to get to know one another better.”

Liturgy Planning Committee

Message from Marie James:“The Community of St Malachi has agreed that Liturgy is one of our charisms. Now, as your ‘window of opportunity’ opens, a Liturgy Planning Committee will meet from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Saturday, July 21, in the home of Stephanie Pritts, 1568 Northland Ave., Lakewood, to plan the liturgical year.

“A potluck supper will be included; please bring salad bar items, rolls or a dessert. All are welcome! No experience necessary. Please call Stephanie at 216-228-6272 if you plan to attend. If you cannot attend, but want to be involved in liturgy planning, please call anyway and you will be contacted later.” - M.J.

And while on the subject of Liturgy…

Spirituality of Liturgy

Message from Jackie Bluett:“Gratefully supported by the CSM Spiritual Development Committee, Fr. Joseph Fortuna, STD, pastor of Ascension Parish, will speak on the “Spirituality of Liturgy” at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 28, in St. Malachi Center. Join us and learn more about that which brings us together at least weekly and links us to Jesus and the Last Supper. A $5 donation is appreciated but not required. Please call Bill Jacob, 440-356-1190, for more information.”- J.B.
