HAND OF GOD”

The CSM Task Force on Sexual Abuse will present a showing of the PBS documentary “Hand of God” at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 22, in the hall. The feature-length film, first aired Jan. 16 on PBS’s Frontline, is the story of Paul Cultrera, survivor of sexual abuse in the 1960s by a serial pedophile priest in the Boston area. Kept secret by the victim for decades, the abuse was revealed in 1994 and subsequently denied and covered up by the Boston archdiocese. The documentary’s filmmaker is the victim’s brother, Joe Cultrera. The May 22 showing is open and free of admission. For information call Kathy Burke (216-228-6797) or Gene Kramer (216-228-7442).

A HEARTY CSM WELCOME

to the adult and two babies baptized during our Easter Vigil Liturgy, respectively Suzanne Fisher, Jeremiah Beshears and Michael Beshears. And to the three people received into the Church during that same Liturgy: Judith Beshears, Christine Feiler and Christian (Chris) Jensen.

Welcome, too, to baby Caroline Clare Favetti, daughter of Mike and Colleen Favetti, who was baptized during our 11 o’clock Liturgy last Sunday, Apr.15.

SPECIAL CSM THANKS

to the many people who gave of their time and talents during Holy Week; Marie James baked the loaves of bread for Eucharist on Holy Thursday. Gary Pritts Sr., Stephanie Pritts and Alan Gutierrez made the shadow box used for the Good Friday Stations of the Cross, Gary Pritts Jr., Mike Andreani and Ellen Brinich helped us pray the Stations with their reverent presentation. Our booklets were put together by Kimberly Tatro and Martin Chovanec. Many thanks, too, to the lectors, servers, Eucharistic ministers, musicians and cantors, many of whom had to be recruited at the last minute to fill in because of the dreadful weather. And extra special thanks to Kay Vine and her able crew of decorators, especially Jo Krabs and Teresa Andreani; they never fail to make our church inspirationally beautiful.

CSM CONGRATULATIONS

to St. Malachi pastoral minister Sr. Francis Borgia OSU, who is celebrating 60 years as an Ursuline Sister and Sr. Mary Lou Tadsen OSU, recently a psychiatric nurse at Lutheran Hospital and in residence at St. Malachi, who is marking 50 years.

Congratulations, as well, to Theresa Slivka, who has made the honor roll at St. Joseph Academy
