Message from Bill McLaughlin:

“The annual Thanksgiving Dinner sponsored by the Monday Night Meal will be held Monday, Nov. 20. As usual, the sign-up board will be displayed for folks to prepare segments of the meal. A major change this year is that due to a generous contribution from a union, the turkeys will be provided for individuals to cook, slice and bring back to the meal. The uncooked turkeys will be available in the hall from Sunday, Nov. 5 through Monday, Nov. 13. If you cannot arrange for a pickup during these times, please call me, Bill McLaughlin, 440-465-8317.”

Annual Mass of Remembrance

The annual Mass of Remembrance for those who have been buried from St. Malachi during the past year will be at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 5. Anyone who can help with serving a luncheon following the Mass for families and friends of the remembered, please call Kay Vine (440-871-5868) or Charlene McElwee (216-781-3110)

Prospective Members Meeting

There will be a meeting after our 11 o’clock Liturgy this Sunday, Oct. 8, for anyone interested in joining or learning more about the Community of St. Malachi. Meet at the membership table at coffee hour. The meeting will last about 20 minutes. For more details call Rose Horning, 216-228-4234.

CSM THANKS…

were expressed in our last CSM Newsletter to some 22 people involved with this year’s Christian Formation program. Inadvertently omitted from that list were Junior High teacher Lisa Simoneau-Bender and her assistants, Bill Johansen, Michelle Johansen and Rosemary Etheart. Let’s hear it for these folks, too!

ST. MALACHI PARENT ENRICHMENT GROUP

meets during the grade school Christian Formation class time, 9:30-10:40 Sundays, in St. Malachi Center. Topics range from Scripture studies, book discussions, speakers or general discussions on issues relating to rearing children in the Catholic Faith. All are welcome to join them. Upcoming topics include exploration and discussion of the Vine and Branches Gospel Discussion Forum on Oct. 22. From Nov. 5 until end of January the group will be reading “The Purpose-Driven Life – What Am I Here For?” by Rick Warren. Copies are available through the Cuyahoga County Library system, on-line at www.half.com (used), or at most bookstores. A section (purpose) will be discussed at each of six sessions. Currently open for discussion are topics for February through May. For information call Chris Crawford, 216-227-8323.

Message from Peter Toomey:

“As the CSM Newsletter reported, the recent 23rd outdoor Liturgy at Starre’s Acres was the last such Mass, so I hoped it might be of interest to the people of St. Malachi to see photos of the evening. Some photos were shot in low light or on the fly, and may not be suitable for enlargements. But we hope you’ll enjoy the snapshots.

“HOW TO USE:
log on to www.stmalachi.org - click either Parish or Community link.
Right column: Bottom: click Outdoor Liturgy Photos .

“You may either simply view photos and order prints, choose View Photos Now.

“Or Log-in to become a free member of the commercial host site and get full access to photos: viewing, ordering prints, saving to your own PhotoWorks.com account, downloading, and buying prints or calendars or coffee mugs or photo books or other photo products. Either way, have fun!” – P.T.
