Message from Mike Petit, chair, CSM Liturgy Committee:
“Our next Liturgy Committee meeting is at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 1, in the
rectory. We need people interested in the liturgy to help keep our liturgy as
one of our treasured values. Please come and increase our numbers. We meet once
a month.
“We are looking for people to visit churches noted for their liturgies and
report back to our committee. Please call me -- 440-884-9309 -- for a visitation
form and suggested churches to visit.
“We wish to thank the 165 people who participated in the liturgy survey
last month. We are discussing the results at our meetings and will post a
summation in next month’s CSM Newsletter or Communio.” - M.P,

Message from Barbara Starre:
“It is three months this Sunday (July 23) since Dave died. My heart
is filled with gratitude to this beautiful community of people for all the care,
love and prayers showered upon our family.
“We all miss Dave and the extraordinary qualities of his
personality. He loved life and knew how to live it to the fullest. Dealing with
bone marrow cancer simply expanded his capacity for love and compassion. I
believe everything in our life is a gift inviting us to greater spiritual
awareness and transformation. A friend sent the following inscription from an
old English gravestone. I have shared it with many:
“He who we have loved and lost
Is no longer where he was before.
He is now wherever we are.
“Dave’s spirit is ever present for all eternity. When I imagine
myself hugging him, the mental image of his former physical form blends right
into my form and we are ONE.
Peace and Love to All of You,
Barbara Starre and Family”

Message from CSM Treasurer Bob Simoneau:
“I am pleased to begin my term as your treasurer, and I hope I can do as
good a job on behalf of the Community of St. Malachi as my predecessors did. In
June the CSM Council passed the Fiscal Year 2006-07 Budget and it was published
in the newsletter. In order to meet all of our obligations, our budget calls for
us to have regular collection income of $170,000 for this fiscal year. This
amounts to a weekly collection of $3,270. To help everyone know how well we are
doing in meeting this goal, we will publish the most recent collection numbers
and the year-to-date amount with each CSM Newsletter, starting with this
one.
“I remind everyone that in order to be counted for the CSM, checks must be
made out to the Community of St. Malachi. Checks made out just to St.
Malachi are not counted for the Community of St. Malachi and go to St. Malachi
Parish. The cash received at our 11 o’clock Liturgy and all checks properly
addressed to the Community of St. Malachi are part of our regular collection
income.
