received a printed copy of all slides. Key dates: 10/1/06 - each parish
submits 2-3 proposed cluster configurations. 12/1/06 – response from
diocese with first draft of recommended clusters. 2/1/07 – parish
feedback to diocesan recommendation. 4/30/07 – clusters finalized. CSM

reflect on his/her values, influence leadership team discussions. May take a
large number of drafts to truly distill our position.

All welcome. Information: Bill Johansen, 440-353-0606.
Message from Kay Vine: “Many thanks (and Alleluias!) to
all who helped prepare and decorate the church for Easter. In addition, the
After School Program of St. Malachi Center made flowers for the church’s
pillar planters; the third, fifth and sixth grade Christian Formation students
made butterflies and alleluia emblems. And a note of gratitude to those who made
special contributions toward the purchase of plants and flowers.”-K.V.
COFFEE HOUR THIS SUNDAY, April 30, will be on the second floor of the
school building.
See the building and share the joy of the fourth grade Christian Formation
class on the third floor with their presentation of “God So Loved the World.”

IN HIS OWN WORDS…
As temporary as our separation may be, the Community of St. Malachi this week
mourns our loss, and his family’s, of beloved member Dave Starre and at
the same time celebrates his freedom from pain and his going home to God. Phil
Daly calls our attention to Dave’s own words as they appeared six years
ago in the anniversary book commemorating the CSM’s 25th anniversary.
Dave’s “Vision for the Future:” -
‘To feed the hungry from the Near West Side and surrounding area as we have
this past 27 years. To give back the dignity that some of those we serve have
lost over the years through unforeseeable circumstances. To smile, to greet, to
touch and to support those most in need. To thank and respect those people who
donate the food and serve the food. These are the people who make the ministry
survive. To accept new volunteers to carry on the ministry. To give hope to all
those people at the meal as the wounded continue to heal the wounded.”
NO ONE COULD HAVE SAID IT – OR DID IT – BETTER! GOD BE GOOD TO YOU,
DAVE!!

Message from Ed Suszynski, Jr.:
|
“Dear CSM Members. - Sunday, April 23, marked my last ‘official’ day at
St. Malachi. Beginning Monday, April 24, I returned to St. Mary Seminary for
three weeks of classes followed by two more years of seminary study with the
intention of priestly ordination in May 2008.
“In departing from St. Malachi, I took with me many wonderful memories and
experiences, from working with the RCIA, the Backdoor Ministry, St. Malachi
Center, Malachi House, and teaching at Urban Community School. I also took with
me, HOPE, because so many of my experiences here reminded me, time and time
again, just how present God is in our world! In addition, what I will carry with
me, and remember the most, is all of the support you have given me. From day one
I can remember not coming to a ‘new place’ but rather, being welcomed into a
place I could call home! I am very grateful for all of your encouraging words
that have helped affirm my vocation and words of constructive criticism that
have challenged me to grow. I am walking away from this experience with hope,
enthusiasm, passion, and a greater desire to serve God as a priest.
“Please know that St. Malachi Church will always have a special place in my
heart and I will continue to pray for you and I simply ask for your prayers in
return. Thank you, it has truly been an honor and privilege to be here, to
learn, to serve, to grow, and to pray. Peace be with you.” - E.S. (Ed.
Note: And blessings upon you and your vocation, Ed!)
