CSM Community Council Nominees

  Treasurer

Bill McLaughlin - “I volunteered at the Monday Night Meal starting in 1991 and joined the CSM in 1993. Served three years as chair of the Membership Committee, served three years as Treasurer, and served on the Hospitality Committee. I am interested in becoming more active in the CSM after a year’s absence.”

Bob Simoneau - “I am interested in serving the Community of St. Malachi as its treasurer. Donna and I have been members of the CSM from the very beginning. We are the parents and grandparents of Michelle and Bobby Johansen. I am retired now, first from NASA Glenn and more recently from Penn State Erie. I am currently the treasurer for our condo association I believe I have the time and ability to serve the CSM well as treasurer.”

  Spiritual Development Committee Chair:

Jackie Bluett - “My relationship with the CSM is much like a person’s relationship with anyone…it is progressive. A little over 12 years ago, I re-met my best friend at an 11 a.m. St. Malachi Mass and we were married by Fr. Tony in St. Malachi Church 10 months later. I began that annual commitment to the CSM that year. Steps of increased relationship include and may not be limited to the following. Five years ago, I was asked to help at the new members’ Welcome Series. I was received enthusiastically and worked on three consecutive Welcome Series. Four years ago, I said ‘yes’ to an invitation to become a Eucharistic Minister. A year and a half ago, I again joined the committee putting together a Welcome Series. I wrote a series for Communio about different ministries. I am completing my first year as a CSM Council Member-at-Large. I hope you will vote for me, as assisting to provide opportunities for spiritual growth for the Council and the CSM seems like the next step in this relationship. I have been in spiritual direction for nearly seven years, have a Master’s degree in religious studies from John Carroll University, and am in the first year of two at the Ignatian Spirituality Institute.”

  Hospitality Committee Chair:

Coletta Taddeo - “I have been a member of the Community of St. Malachi for seven years. I have enjoyed the gracious hospitality of the people of St. Malachi and would be honored to serve on the Hospitality Committee.”

  Social Action Committee Chair:

Helen Misener - “When life led me back to Cleveland in 2003, I gratefully found the Community of St. Malachi! Here I have been a member and volunteer for FutureChurch, member of the CSM Task Force on Sexual Abuse, volunteer for the Back Door Ministry and have served briefly on the Social Action Committee and Membership Committee. I have a vision of a vibrant Social Action Committee to add to the many wonderful projects already sponsored by the Community of St. Malachi, by a number of endeavors within our community and for those in need in this area.”

  Council Member At-Large:

Mary Ann Kunkel - “As a member of the Community of St. Malachi for 15 years, I would like to volunteer my time and talents to fulfill the mission of the CSM in any way that I can on council. I have volunteered at the back door and at St. Malachi Center and have served as a lector and eucharistic minister for several years.”

Dale Peters - “I have been attending St. Malachi for five years and have been a member for four years. I have been a volunteer at the back door for five years on the third Sundays. I have been an usher for one year and head of the ushers for six months. I would like to continue to grow and serve the Lord and St. Malachi as a council member at-large.”

Paul Kunkel - “Having served the CSM in its many ministries during the past 15 years (four years on council; eucharistic minister; lector; tutor for elementary, high school and GED skills programs at St. Malachi Center; newsletter editor and writer, etc.) I want to continue my service on council using the talents with which God has blessed me.”

Kay Vine – “The Community of St. Malachi has been a blessing and a foundation of faith for me. My initial involvement with the CSM was in the late 1960s as the community was forming itself. Over the years I have been blessed to serve in many capacities with countless wonderful people on formal committees, with various ministries and work groups, and simply as someone there to help. The Community of St. Malachi is also a sacramental home to my two daughters and three grandchildren. During the past 10 years I have been privileged to serve as the CSM’s representative to the Central West District. The CSM – along with all the other parishes of the district – faces many challenges in the months ahead to respond to the “clustering process.” I am most willing to work with the Community and the Council as they make critical decisions for the future. I am also willing to serve with our committees as they work to continue the Mission of the Community and renew the rich life of this unique faith community. With God’s help, we can leave a heritage of lived faith that was envisioned by our founders and continues to call all of us to greater love of our God and all our brothers and sisters.”
