The Community of St. Malachi – First Personal Parish of the Diocese of Cleveland
Celebrating Faith in God and in the Future!

Feast of the Most Holy Trinity

May 22, 2005

HEAD FOR THE HALL!

YOUR PRESENCE IS IMPORTANT!

A special Community of St. Malachi meeting is being held immediately following our 11 o’clock Liturgy Sunday, May 22.

There are two issues:

1. The recommendations of the Finance Council, which have been accepted by the Community Council, to redefine the formula for the “fair share” of expenses which the CSM pays at St. Malachi and

2. An opportunity for feedback on the 2005-2006 CSM budget.

Copies of the recommendations and proposed budget were distributed last Sunday and still are available. (There’s an old saying, “Money Talks.” It’s our money. So let’s all talk about it. Or at least, hear and think about it.)

Message from Chris Schenk, CSJ:

“A heartfelt thank you to so many Malachi friends who extended condolences and sent cards upon the death of my dear mother, Joan Schenk. On Thursday, May 28, at 7 p.m., we are having a Memorial Mass celebrating her life at the Sisters of St. Joseph Worship Space, 3430 Rocky River Dr. All are welcome! With much love and gratitude for the gift my ‘Malachi family’ is in my life.” - C.S.

(A PS to the above from Kay Vine:

“All are also welcome to a reception following the Memorial Mass and welcome, too, to bring along some dessert snacks to share..” - K.V.)

Message from Mike May:

“I would like to say ‘thank you’ for prayers of Community and Parish members when I was electrocuted last fall. Although I am still healing up I recovered without losing functionality of my foot and did not need to have a skin graft. I know that it could have been otherwise. Thanks!” - M.M.

Message from Susan Birmingham Brooks:

“Come celebrate St. Malachi’s and the wonderful people who serve it – priests secretaries, choir directors, teachers, deacons and others – from 6-9 p.m. Saturday, July 30. There will be catering by Massimo’s, entertainment by a dulcimer band and the St. Ignatius High circus group, and more surprises - all in our own hall. All of this for a paltry $15 per person. More details will follow, so pay attention to the CSM Newsletter and St. Malachi Parish Bulletin – and save the date!” - S.B.B.
