She will discuss “Seeking Answers When We’re Battered by
Life” – how suffering calls into question the goodness of God, the
challenges it presents to one’s faith and how faith responses lead to
authentic mercy, forgiveness and peace. A syndicated columnist with Catholic
News Service in Washington, D.C., Antoinette Bosco is a prize-winning
journalist, the author of more than 200 magazine features and 12 books,
including the award-winning “Choosing Mercy, a Mother of Murder Victims Pleads
to End the Death Penalty.” Her presentation here is co-sponsored by St.
Malachi and the diocesan Commission on Catholic Community Action.

FutureChurch’s Fifth Annual
CORPUS CHRISTI CELEBRATION

Parish, Toledo. He will speak about the Eucharist in Catholic life and open a

Special CSM prayers, too, for the countless tsunami victims as well as others
throughout the world suffering because of natural disasters.
And again, last but certainly not least, CSM prayers for our new Pope
Benedict XVI as well as for the people he has been chosen to lead.

received the Sacrament of the Eucharist last Sunday, May 1: Hannah Neligan

· St. Malachi Center Raffle - will
be held, as usual, on Memorial Day, May 30, to benefit center programs. Main
prize is $10,000, with $200 for the seller. Second and third prizes are $2000
and $500, respectively. Tickets are $20, with just 2500 printed. The drawing
will take place in the center, with a continental breakfast following the 9 o’clock
holiday Mass. To help with selling tickets call Jackie Bluett, 216-771-3036.
· Prayer Walk for Peace - Every
Wednesday, with group gathering at 7:15 p.m. in St. Malachi parking lot for
prayerful walk to Public Square and further prayer there. All ages welcome.
· CSM Task Force on Sexual Abuse -
Meeting, 7 p.m. Thursday, May 26, in the rectory. All welcome. Info: Kathy

HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY! …
…to all mothers – natural, adoptive and foster, and in those same
categories, grandmothers, great-grandmothers, aunts and aunts grand and great,
big sisters, godmothers, sacramental and other sponsors, teachers and other
mentors – loving surrogate moms of every kind. In the Community of St.
Malachi, we’re blessed in having every kind!

As the old saying goes: “A GOOD TIME WAS HAD BY ALL…” The annual “Celebration
of Service Luncheon” held April 30 for all volunteers in all St. Malachi
ministries was delightful in every respect: food, decorations, hospitality,
entertainment, etc. Many thanks to the rectory staffers for all their hard work:
