Celebrating Faith in God and in the Future!

28th Sunday in Ordinary Time

October 10, 2004

DID YOU KNOW….

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month!

Please encourage those you know to do self exams and be sure to support those you know who are in treatment or who are survivors with your prayers and well wishes.

October is also Domestic Violence Awareness Month!

One in four homes is affected by Domestic Violence. A victim’s chances of injury go up 75% if they try to leave. If someone you know is affected or you have any questions call the Domestic Violence Hotline at 216-391-HELP.

THANK YOU FROM EVA SIERZPUTOWSKI: Dear Community of St. Malachi Members: My heart goes out gratefully to ALL who prayed for me over the last several months during my numerous operations. I felt the “Spirit” many times and have been truly blessed like no other time in my life. I am overwhelmed with gratefulness. I am so happy to be part of such a wonderful Church and Body of Christ. Special thanks to Dolores and Al Sullin who were with me through it all and welcomed me into their home. I’ve never experienced such and outpouring of Love that truly is from Above. Many Blessings.

MESSAGE FROM BILL JOHANSEN: The CSM Council is currently looking for someone to fulfill the role of Membership Chair. If you are interested or know of anyone interested, please contact Bill Johansen at 440-353-0606. This committee plays a vital role in welcoming new members and helping them adjust and orient to our great community.

Join the conversation...The St. Malachi’s Vine and Branches Gospel Discussion Forum allows community members and parishioners to link to the Readings for the upcoming Sunday’s Liturgy of the Word and, if so moved, post a reflection. In addition to spiritual preparation for Sunday’s Liturgy, the forum provides a format for deepening our understanding of God’s Word and Its impact in our lives through shared reflection. Visit the forum at www.stmalachi.org/parish/forum. Anyone wishing to have the forum electronically delivered each week please send an email to vineandbranchesforum@hotmail.com using the words “add forum” in the subject line.

MESSAGE FROM STEVE DEJOHN - (sent to him by a friend) Hi All: On Jan 11 2005 I will be running in the Leukemia & Lymphoma Marathon in Phoenix, Arizona. This 26.2 mile marathon is to raise awareness and funding for the Leukemia and Lymphoma society. I will be running this race in honor of my 5 year old son Noah. At 2 years of age he was diagnosed with Leukemia. Just last month he finished 3 years of chemotherapy and is going strong.

In order to run this marathon, I need your support. The fundraising goal for the Marathon in Arizona is set at $3,700 per runner. I ask you to consider making a tax-deductible donation to support my efforts towards this important cause. A minimum of 75% of the funds I raise go directly toward patient care and research. Any amount you can give would be a tremendous help to me. If you have any questions let me know. I set up a homepage through the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. If anyone is interested you can make your donation directly online. Thank for you time and support. Sincerely, Charles Hambly www.active.com/donate/tntnoh/tntnohCHambly
