The annual All St. Malachi Picnic
is Sunday Aug 15 at Lakewood Park from 2-6
p.m. Sponsored by the Vibrant Parish Life Coordinating Committee, the picnic
welcomes all who are part of St. Malachi, Parish and Community members,
neighborhood families and volunteers. The main course will be provided along
with soda pop. Please bring a side dish or dessert. For more information,

MESSAGE FROM CHARLENE McELWEE:
Save the date! On Saturday evening Aug 14 at 7:30 p.m., flutist Bryan Kennard
will present a recital. Bryan is a Music Education major entering his junior
year at Mercyhurst College and has played at both the 9:30 and 11:00 Masses. All
are welcome!
We are interested in forming a funeral choir here at St.
Malachi. If you are
usually free in the morning and would love to be able to minister in song, this
is a great opportunity for you. The first gathering will be in early September,
date and time to be announced in the near future. For further information or

p.m. at Starre’s Acres. Fr. Tony will be the celebrant. Potluck to follow.

· Malachi Book Group - The August meeting is Wed Aug 25 at 7:00 p.m. Topic
will be Mary Magdala. Casey Stangel suggests we all try to read some small thing
about Mary. Many books on her have surfaced since the release of the book the

· Golf Outing: 12th Annual St. Malachi Golf Outing will be Oct 1st to
benefit Malachi Center!!!
· St. Colman 3rd Annual Steak Roast – Sunday Aug 22 at 2027 West 65th
Street. $25.00 includes 12 oz. steak with all the trimmings, open bar and a
chance on a color TV. 1:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and music and dancing well into the

· Prayer Walk for Peace – every Wednesday, with group gathering at 7:15
p.m. in St. Malachi parking lot for prayerful walk to Public Square and further
prayer. All ages welcome!
· Cuyahoga County’s Annual Phone Book Recycling Campaign – Will be held
now until Aug 15. Recycle your old phone books at 12 Cleveland Metroparks

· 9th Annual Crooked Halo Benefit – Saturday Sep 25 with a ‘Swing into
the City’ theme. Tickets are $50.00 toward programs and services of the

helping couples in troubled marriages stay together. A retrouvaille weekend will
