Message from Charlene McElwee: “Three CSM young people shared their gifts at the Magis event held at the Jesuit Retreat House last week. Hilary Etheart, Margaret Brinich and Ellen Brinich did a splendid and prayerful job of leading the congregation in song at the Liturgy. (They were rewarded with a donation toward their coming trip to the National Catholic Youth Conference convention.) There will be a meeting of the combined CSM-Parish Liturgy Commission at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 24, in the rectory. Among items for discussion are a day of reflection for all our liturgical ministers and other highlights of the coming year. All are welcome.” - C.M.
* * * * * * * * * * CSM THANKS TO DAN AND CELESTE As he explains in the attached issue, Dan Alaimo will no longer be serving as Communio’s editor-in-chief, a role he has filled since he was instrumental in initiating the publication years ago. Joe Pulizzi, our Communications Committee chair, will succeed him. And, as announced earlier, this month’s issues of both the CSM Newsletter and Communio are the last for which Celeste Grunwald will be overseeing distribution. The CSM owes many thanks to these individuals and to all the other members who have assisted them throughout the years. Our thanks, too, to our young Christian Formation members who will be taking over for Celeste. (And to Karen Duffy and Jennifer DeJohn for “overseeing” them.)
CSM Congratulations to Golden Jubilarian FR. PAUL HRITZ! Our founding pastor was among those whose formal diocesan celebration was recently held but the actual date of his priestly ordination was December 19, 1953. Therefore, with hope and trust we look forward to his joining us here at St. Malachi closer to that 2003 date to allow us to share in a joyful commemoration. Meanwhile, Ad Multos Annos Paul!
