LET’S HEAR IT FOR:

I – Michael Andreani and all the adults and youngsters associated with our CSM Christian Formation activities. As a post-Communion reflection during last Sunday’s 11 o’clock Liturgy, Michael, representing his fellow junior high youth group, read his own very well written letter to the president asking for a peaceful resolution to the Iraq crisis.

II – Rosemarie DeJohn, who was interviewed on Ch. 3 as she stood in downtown Cleveland, literally covered with ice during our recent blizzard; at the crack of dawn she was out there volunteering for Harvest for Hunger.

III – Doug Carpenter and all the other Wednesday evening St. Malachi peace walkers; Doug was pictured in Thursday’s Plain Dealer, holding a cross and leading the group to Public Square the fateful night before.

Scrap Tire Sweep – abandoned tires provide a prime breeding ground for mosquitoes that spread the West Nile Virus. City and county agencies will combine during April to help eliminate this health hazard. To report abandoned tires and facilitate their collection and recycling, call 216-241-5865, by Apr. 15.

A REMINDER (or two):

I - Have you picked up your copy of “Lent 2003: Seeking Christ’s Peace?” The Lenten/Easter schedules still can be found at the church doors.

II - Lenten Outreach: Envelopes at the church doors. This year Lenten sacrifices are asked of individuals and families – perhaps $.50 or $1 a day – to help support the ministry with orphaned Ugandan children of Fr. Gene Hattie SJ. (He was assigned to Cleveland for several years, is a friend of Mary Jane Treichel, and although he’s not likely to boast about it, is a cousin of the editor of this publication.) Please make checks payable to St. Malachi Benefit Fund..
