VIBRANT PARISH
LIFE COORDINATING COMMITTEE From Luis Gutierrez…
“The Vibrant Parish Life Coordinating Committee (VPLCC) did not meet in December but will meet again on Jan. 21. The process of inputting the data from the VPL Self-Study Surveys continues but should be wrapped up soon. I’m hoping to be able to present something substantive to the next VPLCC meeting.
“Just to remind everyone why they filled out that survey, it is one of several methods we’ve employed over the last couple of years to “listen” to the Malachi community and hear what the community has to say about where we are – what we like/don’t like, what our strengths and weaknesses are – and where we’d like to go. At the end of this part of the VPL process we are going to start looking at how we can share our gifts with other parishes in our area and what gifts we might need to enhance our spiritual growth and better serve those in need.
“If it seems like this is taking a long time, it is. As I’ve said before, the VPLCC is determined to move forward deliberately, taking advantage of all the information available to us to get as clear a picture as we can of our faith community. Please keep us in your prayers. Here’s this week’s quote from Bishop Pilla’s pastoral letter:
“All of these opportunities require much collaboration. They demand good stewardship and the willingness to share with others – the poor with the rich, the rich with the poor, one cultural group with another. Collaboration includes sharing in the same district or neighborhood, and goes beyond to invite partnerships between parishes with different cultural roots.’”- Bishop Anthony M. Pilla

Today’s Liturgy marks the anniversary of the rebirth into eternal life of a principal CSM founder, Gen McCloskey.
She brought the first of us together here in December 1967. God be good to her…
