  The Community of St. Malachi – First Personal Parish of the Diocese of Cleveland
Celebrating 26 Years of Faith in God and in the Future!

Feast of the Baptism of the Lord

January 13, 2002

And the beat goes on

 AGAIN, SOMETHING(S) NEW!

1) LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT Rosemarie DeJohn, CSM Council vice president, sends this message: "Are you ‘meeting-ed’ out? Do you dread going to or leading a meeting because you really don’t see what’s going on? Do you think that you are not affected by the meetings you attend or run?

If yes is the answer to any of the above, we invite you to the first of a three-part series on
leadership development, beginning with how to run and participate in effective meetings.

CONDUCTING EFFECTIVE MEETINGS

9-11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 26
St. Malachi Center
Presenter: David Delambo, Diocesan Office on Pastoral Planning

"Please join us and bring with you those who are our leaders of the future! See you there!" RFD

2) SMALL FAITH COMMUNITIES Colleen Hughes, recently welcomed into the CSM, gives us this message: "Looking for a smaller group within the Community of St. Malachi to ‘do life’ with this Lent and beyond? Join Carole Dlouhy, CSM Spiritual Development chair, and several new CSM members on the journey of forming new small faith communities,

7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 28 - St. Malachi Center

"Small faith communities provide the opportunity to connect with others who, like you, desire to grow spiritually, to serve together, and to cultivate challenging and supportive relationships. Some at St. Malachi have belonged to such groups for many years and have found them very fulfilling. Getting connected is a team effort, and attending this introductory session is the first step to finding your home within a small faith community. All are welcome. With any questions, please call Colleen Hughes, 216-226-1721."

  • Christmas Decorations – will be taken down today, following the 12:30 Mass. Help is needed! Please stick around.

{Editorial comment: Kay Vine provided "a preliminary list" (her term) of the church Christmas season cleaners and decorators. That was before she fractured her foot. Since she seemingly has managed to keep up with so much else on her busy calendar – why are we not surprised? – we’ll wait until next issue of this newsletter to name and thank all the good souls to whom the rest of us are indebted for our beautiful, warm and spiritually inspiring surroundings. And we’ll wish Kay a speedy, sure-footed and pain-free future, along with our advice to get some rest ferheavensake. - ME}
