How does that old song go? "THERE’LL BE SOME CHANGES MADE…"

I) We say a fond farewell to Martin Skladany, and at the same time welcome his fellow seminarian from Slovakia, John Stefanica, who also will spend a couple of months with us. He is the son of John and Mary Stefanica, of Dolny-Kubin, and the brother of Joseph and George. He has completed his third year at Comenius University in Slovakia, and before returning there he will visit Spain and Italy.

He’s not unfamiliar with Rome because during summer vacations he has been a tour guide in that city. John is devoted to history, philosophy, art and literature, with favorite reading ranging from Dostoevsky, to Hemingway, to Edgar Allen Poe to Joseph Heller, whose Catch 22 he insists he has read 12 times! And for a surprise, ask him what he likes best about the Irish…(The Agnesa Vaterkova in the prayer list above is his grandmother, who is having heart problems.)

II) The CSM Membership Committee met last Sunday and selected new leadership for the coming year: Paul Wingenfeld and Francine Cutura, co-chairs;

Marc Giguere, outreach coordinator; Louis Finucane, information table coordinator;

Gene and JoAnn Kramer, Welcome Series coordinators; Bill McLaughlin, retaining his role as annual renewal coordinator (see below), and Sue Colson, prospective member meeting coordinator. Deserving of a big round of applause for their long and valuable service are exiting members Jocelyn Heaney, committee chair, and Rose Horning, Welcome Series coordinator.

Pertinent Message from Bill McLaughlin: "Recommitment forms will be available at Coffee Hour in the hall, starting today, Mar. 11. Please stop by and pick up yours!"

III) The CSM Communications Committee has determined a new lineup for publication of Communio. Co-chair Peter Toomey reports: "In recognition of their increased contributions, and in keeping with the committee’s practice of vesting responsibility in as many members as possible, Luis Gutierrez is editor, and Joe Pulizzi is managing editor, reflecting their actual functions in the publication. Dan Alaimo will hereafter serve as editor-in-chief. Peter Toomey will continue to contribute by staying out of their way." For further information, check with today’s issue of Communio, attached to this issue of the CSM Newsletter.

And here seems to be as good a spot as any for
