Funeral Planning Workshop
7-9 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24 or noon
- 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4, in the hall
(Choose either session.)
In an effort to meet the needs of CSM members and others in our area, the Liturgy Committee will present a Funeral Planning Workshop twice.
Information will include:
- The Church’s ministry to the sick and dying,
- What our Faith teaches about the body and cremation.
- The role of funeral directors; services they can provide.
- Catholic cemeteries and burial services.
- Planning the Rite of Christian burial; wakes, liturgies, receptions.
- The grieving process; ministry and resources of the Community of St. Malachi and other parishes;
other resources available to the wider community.

Resource materials provided by the Catholic Cemeteries Association.
The workshop is admission-free and open to all, but since planning materials will be provided,

ST. MALACHI CHILDREN’S CHOIR
Practices for the newly-forming choir will continue at 2 p.m. Saturdays, in the church.
This choir will sing at one Liturgy each month. Youngsters aged 8-plus welcome.

EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS NEEDED…
…to take Communion one Sunday a month to 10 people in the nearby Riverview
HiRise, just down the way on West 25 Street. To help, call Sr. Francis, 216-861-5343.
…to take Communion once or twice a month to the sick at St. Vincent Charity Hospital, from
4-5 p.m. weekdays and 2-3 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. The hospital is at 2351 East 22 St.
Qualifications asked for: certification, mobility, compassion, interest and concern for the sick.
Orientation will be provided.

Meehan, who was welcomed into the Faith and the CSM during our
Oct. 8 Liturgy. And to newlyweds Teri Balmert and Donald Hallowell. And to not-so-newlyweds Steve and Rosemarie DeJohn, now celebrating 30 years of marriage following his proposal right here in St. Malachi Church. (Will it be considered a second honeymoon when they lead a tour to sunny southern Spain Feb. 9-17, when the temp there is 70-75 degrees? With a romantic side trip to the Casbah in Morocco? Coping with Loss - is a Catholic bereavement support group that will meet at 10 a.m. the third
Saturday of each month , beginning Nov. 18, in St. James Chapel, 17400 Northland Ave., Lakewood.
Facilitators: Fr. Thom Kowatch, Lakewood Hospital chaplain; CSM member Mary Warren, LPCC
and Diane Draeger, Pastoral Counselor. Also, there will be a Memorial Mass at 7 p.m. Saturday,
