How do YOU score on these REMINDERS?

DID YOU REMEMBER...

1) That our Vatican II Series begins at 7 p.m. tonight (3/12/00) in St. Malachi Center and will continue for five more Sundays? It's a vital recap of historical events that led to the birth of the Community of St. Malachi. Tonight's speaker will be Fr. Paul Hritz, with a historical overview of Vatican II Our Mar. 19 presenter will be Fr. Lou Trivison, on "Liturgical Reform." Mar. 26 speakers will be Laura and Bill Caldwell, on "Lay Participation/Hunger for Justice in the Church: How Did it Happen in Cleveland?" Future presenters include Barney Offerman, Fr. Jim O'Donnell, Fr. Joseph Hilinski and Beacon Street. Facilitators are Bill and Kathy Jacob. Sponsors: CSM Silver Anniversary and Spiritual Development committees. Info: Pat Forkas (216-226-7603) or Frank Schiros (216-5214195).

2) To pick up - and read - the St. Malachi Church Lenten Schedule? (The one printed on purple paper.) It contains all sorts of useful information about the Church's Jubilee Year, Prayer Opportunities, Fasting and Abstinence, Communal Penance Services and individual Confession dates, as well as the full Holy Week Schedule. (So be sure to save it.)

3) To return your reservation for our Silver Anniversary Dinner? It will begin with cocktails and conversation at 5 p.m. Sunday, Apr. 30 at Brennan's Party Center on Triskett Road, with dinner at 6 p.m. followed by presentations, entertainment and other surprises. Limited seating necessitates early reservations.  Tickets are $30 each, payable with reservation and check clearly marked for "Dinner Party." If you haven't picked up your reservation form, or received one in the mail, call Rosemarie DeJohn, 216-228-0000.  Returns, clearly marked, can be dropped in the collection basket or brought/sent to the rectory, 2459 Washington Ave., Cleveland 44113.

4) To pick up - and wear - our very attractive Silver Anniversary Pin? They're only $3 and are available at the coffee hour.

5) To make note of our St. Malachi Web Page address? You'll find it on the back page of today's Communio.

6) And lastly, but not in the least, did you remember to provide some financial help for our Silver Anniversary Celebrations? They include spiritual, social and neighborhood outreach events as well as publication of a precious keepsake, Malachi Memories. Any amount is welcome, and although the amount won't be identified in the memory book - in keeping with CSM policy - donors' names will be listed all together. (And rightly so.) Attached to this CSM Newsletter today is an envelope for this purpose. (You should know that the Anniversary Steering Committee at first intended a flyer-plus-envelope but Peter Toomey, communications mogul that he is, came up with the good idea of combining the two.
So --naturally -- he got stuck with doing it.  Thank you, Peter!)

MESSAGES OF THANKS

from Fr. Jim, written before his welcome return last week:

"To my dear family of St. Malachi's ....I want to thank each and every one of you for all the love you have poured out upon Me through your many get well cards, your prayers and great concern for my healing.
