1) That our Vatican II Series begins at 7 p.m. tonight (3/12/00) in St. Malachi Center and will continue for five more Sundays? It's a vital recap of historical events that led to the birth of the Community of St. Malachi. Tonight's speaker will be Fr. Paul Hritz, with a historical overview of Vatican II Our Mar. 19 presenter will be Fr. Lou Trivison, on "Liturgical Reform." Mar. 26 speakers will be Laura and Bill Caldwell, on "Lay Participation/Hunger for Justice in the Church: How Did it Happen in Cleveland?" Future presenters include Barney Offerman, Fr. Jim O'Donnell, Fr. Joseph Hilinski and Beacon Street. Facilitators are Bill and Kathy Jacob. Sponsors: CSM Silver Anniversary and Spiritual Development committees. It contains all sorts of useful information about the Church's Jubilee Year, Prayer Opportunities, Fasting and Abstinence, Communal Penance Services and individual Confession dates, as well as the full Holy Week Schedule. (So be sure to save it.) 3) To return your reservation for our Silver Anniversary Dinner? It will begin with cocktails and conversation at 5 p.m. Sunday, Apr. 30 at Brennan's Party Center on Triskett Road, with dinner at 6 p.m. followed by presentations, entertainment and other surprises. Limited seating necessitates early reservations. Tickets are $30 each, payable with reservation and check clearly marked for "Dinner Party." (You should know that the Anniversary Steering Committee at first intended a flyer-plus-envelope but Peter Toomey, communications mogul that he is, came up with the good idea of combining the two.
