This ministry provides a hot meal on every Monday of the year, regardless of what day it is, Christmas, New Years, Labor Day, etc. Volunteer cooks use a standard menu to prepare the meat which is delivered to the kitchen prior to serving and reheated for serving. The additional side dishes are prepared by the cooks in the kitchen. Volunteers will bring vegetables or fruit on a monthly basis. All the work in serving, setup, and cleaning is all performed by volunteers. A meal is served from approximately 5:45-6:30 p.m. Volunteers are asked to come between 5:00-5:30 p.m. and remain until cleanup is finished, at approximately 7:15 p.m. The Monday Nite Meal is primarily a ministry of the Community of
St. Malachi, but welcomes volunteers from the parish and the larger community. |
