This benefits St. Herman House of Hospitality, one of the city’s most important men’s shelters.
RS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program coordinated by the Cuyahoga EITC Coalition is seeking volunteers. The program is directed to the working poor, those who qualify for the Earned Income Tax Credit. Everything is FREE to the taxpayers. In 2017 the coalition did 13,466 returns bringing over 20 Million dollars to the community through refunds to our clients.
Except for a few staff we are all volunteers certified by the IRS. There are a wide variety of locations and hours to choose from. You are never alone; there is always a veteran working with you. St. Malachi Parish is currently looking for a Part-Time Kitchen Coordinator for the Back Door Ministry to work weekdays, weekends and/or holidays when the full-time coordinator is off. This position is approximately 14-16 hours per week.
Because Back Door Ministry functions 7 days a week, the full-time coordinator will work a varied schedule, including both weekdays and weekends, collaborating with the part-time coordinator to staff every shift fully. Minimum of two
years kitchen experience.

The Rite of Acceptance into the Order of the Catechumenate is celebrated this weekend with Tyler Hardtke, a new St. Malachi parishioner. Through this Rite, he begins his time as a catechumen, witnessing to us the work of God in his life. We, in turn, witness to him as a faith community. Welcome, Tyler! Our prayers are with you as you journey toward Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist at the Easter Vigil.
Join us on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at 7:00PM in the church to learn about and pray with St. Catherine of Siena. She started her spiritual journey as a laywoman associated with the Dominican order of friars and nuns. She was inspirational to the Church even in her own time.
