Eucharistic Ministers

The Eucharistic Ministers serve through assisting the priest in the distribution of Eucharist at Mass, as well as outside of Mass – to the sick, the homebound, the infirm, the frail, elderly. Eucharistic Ministers must complete a training program before serving in this role. A sub-committee of Liturgy Planning coordinates the recruitment, training and scheduling of Eucharistic Ministers to assist in the distribution of the bread and wine at Sunday and seasonal celebrations. Candidates for Eucharistic Minister training and assignment are identified based on an indication of interest on a submitted Community Commitment and Registration form.

Sacristans

Sacristans function as "stage managers" for Sunday and Holy Day liturgy ensuring that our celebration is conducted In a reverent and enjoyable manner. They ensure that Father has the necessary vessels in place, that Eucharistic ministers and lectors are available and understand their responsibilities, that the bringing up of the gifts are appropriately assigned to community members, and that any special announcements to be made by Father have been noted.

Bereavement/Wake

The members of this subcommittee coordinate these activities in a compassionate and unobtrusively efficient manner. Taking their cue from the deceased’s family members, they provide coordination of wake activities to whatever degree the family of the deceased desires.

Seasonal Celebrations

A group of community members are formed on an as-needed basis to coordinate, in cooperation with the Parish, our holiday celebrations. They work to ensure our seasonal celebrations create a unique experience for our members/parishioners in keeping with the joy or solemnity of the season. Advent, Christmas, Lent and Easter are the major seasonal celebrations requiring special environment and liturgical programs. Typically an announcement is made from the pulpit, and placed in the Community Newsletter, that volunteers are needed to help plan a specific season. Interested members are invited to attend the initial formation meetings as they are announced.

Liturgical Planning

In addition to the activities indicated, the Liturgy Planning Commentate continually evaluates our liturgical practices to ensure that they reflect the desires of Community members while adhering to the spirit of Vatican II enhances the enjoyment of Communion hymn. All registered members are invited to serve on the Planning Committee. Liturgy Planning Committee meetings are held from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM on the 2nd Tuesday of every month in the rectory.
