Vision for the Future

More minority members --Anon.

To grow more grateful each day of our lives from the gift of faith, the blessing of loving friendships and the challenge to become more and more like Jesus.

--Rick & Nancy Crow

From the beginning the challenge has always been to love, accept and embrace ourselves and others because our gracious and gentle God has so loved us. That love was always meant to heal us and others. Hopefully the Community will always encompass those who are marginalized, poor, broken, and different than us even more so than it does now.

-- Joan Dworznik.

To continue to meet people wherever their needs may be, whether for spirituality, shelter, friendship, acceptance or even a big hug.

--Helen Kane

Continuing to increase the diversity of the membership across racial, ethnic, and life style, and especially, welcoming new and poorer immigrants. Secondly, being able to fully anticipate and participate in the Jubilee 2000 Justice and Peace observance. Thirdly, a willingness to tackle the tough justice issues of living wage for working people, opposition to the death penalty, forgiveness of international debt by impoverished nations, and strong racial justice initiative.

--Barney Offerman

That members will continue the ministries to the neighborhood. That we will continue to celebrate Liturgy with joy. That we will find ways to expand outreach to the neighborhood and to the needy. That young members will participate in Community life. That ministering to one another's needs within the Monday Night Meal Community while ministering to the needy in the community of Cleveland will spill over into the Community of St. Malachi.

--Rebecca Rocco

To feed the hungry from the Near West Side and surrounding area as we have the past 27 years. To give back the dignity that some of those we serve have lost over the years through unforeseeable circumstances. To smile, to greet, to touch and to support those most in need. To thank and respect those people who donate the food and serve the food. These are the people who make the ministry survive. To accept new volunteers to carry on the ministry. To give hope to all those people at the meal as the wounded continue to heal the wounded.

--Dave Starre

Use of Equal Exchange Coffee at St. Malachi's as far as possible

--Chris Dusek
