Rebecca Rocco opened with prayer. She then invited all to capture part of the CSM’s history by drawing a word or picture on large sheets of paper, labeled with the years of our existence. And later by sharing the personal significance of the idea behind that word or picture.

Concluding her year as President, Rebecca thanked the retiring members of Council: Rebecca Rocco, President; Terry Hayes, Vice President/Hospitality chair; JoAnn Kramer, Treasurer; Ron McComas and Peg Connell, Liturgy co-chairs; Michelle Harris, At-Large; Jennifer Hofford, At-Large, Rosemarie DeJohn At-Large.

Elections – Terry Hayes, chair of the Nominations Committee, turned to Frank Schiros for introductions.

Ballots distributed to committed Members, marked, collected.

Rebecca Rocco invited Reflections on the history entered on the wall drawings. Many members shared their personal memories and inspirations.

Appreciative Inquiry – Lou Keim reported progress in initial planning with the Parish Council. Reviewed proposal for the Listening Phase to capture history and members’ current thinking. The joint process then splits as CSM and SMP each develops its own Action Plans. Lou invited participation by all Members.

Prayer Posture – Peggy Connell, Liturgy Co-Chair: Members have expressed renewed interest in the recommendations of Vatican II. Especially reflection on worshippers’ posture during prayer. Liturgy Committee will review and invite Member comments. But there is not an opportunity to decide this before Holy Week liturgies, which will be shared with SMP.

Election Results – Terry Hughes clarified the nominating process: those who may be called to serve are invited to identify themselves, followed by the Nominating Committee soliciting candidates. Dick Gibbons thanked all the candidates.

Mary Helen Meehan, and Gary Pritts. New Committee Chairs: Rosemary Gray, Hospitality; Jeanette Shemo, Liturgy.

Continuing Council Members: Fr. Tony Schuerger, Pastor; Mary Carol Lucic, Christian Formation; Dan Alaimo and Peter Toomey, Communications; Susan Shipley, Social Action; Dick Gibbons and Frank Schiros, Spiritual Development; Jonni Flaherty, Fred Leonard, and Angelo Privitera, At-Large.

Council will discern new leadership at its June 13 meeting.
