Christian Formation
Schedule for 2007-2008

Christian Formation Classes

  • Grades K through 8 classes meet from 9:30 - 10:45, Sunday Mornings in the school building and Saint Malachi Center

  • High School meets from 6:30 - 8:00,  Sunday Evenings at the home of Pete and Kathy Burke 1039 Parkside Rd. in Lakewood.

September 9th and 23rd
October 7th and 21st
November 4th and 18th
December 2nd and 16th (no evening class on the 16th due to Advent Celebration)
January 13th and 27th
February 10th and 24th
March 9th
April 6th and 20th (no Junior High class on the 6th due to the retreat)
May 4th

Reconciliation preparation

Reconciliation preparation involves parents and children. 

October 28th - The meeting is held in the library at 12:30 or after the 11:00 Mass.
The date of the second meeting and the sacrament itself will be given at the first meeting

First Eucharist preparation     

First Eucharist preparation involves parents and children. 
The meetings are held in the library and 2nd grade classroom at 12:30 or after the 11:00 Mass unless stated otherwise.

January 6th
February 9th 9:00 am Mass for children in the Church
March 2nd
March 20th 5:30 p.m. Blessing Cup Meal for families
April 13th
April 25th 7:00 p.m. practice in the Church
April 27th 11:00 Mass Celebration of the sacrament

Retreats

Retreats take place at St. Leonard’s Retreat Center in Avon. For the sake of the continuity of the retreat, retreatants are asked to attend the retreat from beginning to end. Both retreats end with the celebration of the 11:00 Mass at St. Malachi.

High School Retreat: March 14th – 16th
Junior High Retreat: April 6th –7th

Other events
November 8th – 11th National Catholic Youth Conference, Columbus, Oh
December 16th 7:00 p.m. Family Advent Celebration at Lakewood Park
