Catechetical Sunday is September 20th
“I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you..” is the theme for Catechetical Sunday 2020. In the midst of disease, violence, uncertainty, as well as hopes and strivings of humanity, God is constantly speaking to us and calling us to deeper faith. While the structure of our programs looks different this fall, catechesis continues. We ask God’s blessing on those involved in Faith Formation. Thank you….”it still thinkable in our time that each of us can persevere in this adventure even in the silent, laborious and sometimes thankless work of being a catechist.” (New General Directory for Catechesis, 2020, page 9).

Bishop Malesic’s Installation Mass 9.14.2020 2:00pm
Dear Parishioners and Friends,
On Monday, September 14th, our diocesan community begins a new chapter as The Most Reverend Edward C. Malesic assumes the cathedra (meaning, chair) and officially assumes the pastoral care and governance as the twelfth bishop since the Diocese of Cleveland was founded in 1847.
This special edition of our Sunday parish bulletin not only commemorates this momentous occasion but also gives us the opportunity to reflect upon the essential relationship between every member of the baptized and the bishop of a local Church.
Please be sure to join the diocesan community in the celebration of Bishop Malesic’s Installation Mass via live stream on Monday at 2:00pm. Go to dioceseofcleveland.org and select the live stream link.
Gathered with our local Shepherd, may we welcome this as a graced moment for the whole diocese, giving thanks to God for the gift of apostolic succession in fulfillment of Christ’s promise that he would remain with us until the end of the ages.
May the Lord continue to bless Bishop Malesic as he assumes his ministry here in Northeast Ohio!
Sincerely yours in Mary, Queen of the Apostles,
Fr. Gurnick
