Next weekend, August 13-14, 2016 is the 2016-17 Faith & Values Appeal for Catholic Education at St. Malachi. Monies are used to help provide tuition support for needy students & their families in our diocese. Please be generous in your support of Catholic school students for tuition assistance to provide a faith-based education to students in need. You can also donate online at www.CatholicCommunity.org/ to donate or call Karen Joyce at 800-869-6525 ext. 1910. There will be a second collection at all Masses next weekend.
During the weekend of May 21st and 22nd, 2016, St. Malachi will participate in the follow up of In-pew Parish Appeal for Catholic Charities and Rose Mary Home. A donation to this appeal is an act of mercy that will change the lives of our brothers and sisters in Christ, especially the children and young adults with disabilities living at Rose Mary Home. All new, increased and additional gifts made in the in-pew envelopes available next weekend or donated online at http://www.catholiccommunity.org will be matched dollar for dollar, up to $100,000. All proceeds from this weekend will be invested in Rose Mary’s Homes for our Future project to enhance the lives of children and adults with developmental disabilities.
This weekend is the collection for the Catholic Home Mission that helps strengthen the Catholic church at home. Over 40% of U.S. Dioceses are considered mission territories, affecting over 9 million Catholics, where the Church is poor, communities are scattered and priests are few. Funds from the Catholic Homes Appeal helps Catholic communities across America survive and thrive by underwriting evangelization, religious education, education for future priests, training for lay ministers, and poor parishes that would have to close their doors without help. A second collection will be taken at all Masses.
On Saturday, February 13th and Sunday February 14th, 2016, the 131st annual collection for the African American and Native American Missions in the United States will be held. Your support of the collection helps build the Church in our African American and Native American communities from coast to coast, including our dioceses which received $70,000 form this collection last year. There will be a second collection at all masses.
The Annual Catholic Charities in-pew Appeal commitment is February 6 and February 7, 2016. The theme for this year’s appeal is “Love Powers our Mission”. The love of Jesus powers the mission of Catholic Charities. With your help, we reach out to people who suffer from personal loss, disabilities, violence, hunger and poverty.
As the People of God, we are one human family, with a bond that enriches our society and provides grace to overcome every obstacle. We are called to carry out the teachings of Jesus Christ with mercy, charity and thanksgiving. How will you respond?
Offertory envelopes for 2016 are available at the church doors. Please include your name and address as you begin using them so that we may keep proper records of your contributions throughout the year. Thank you!

L’Arche Cleveland is holding their annual Bake Sale for Solidarity next Sunday, November 22, from 9 am-1 pm. With our usual sweet treats, we will also be selling gift baskets you can take to your loved ones for the holiday. Proceeds from the bake sale will benefit L’Arche Solidarity.
To honor our 40th Anniversary in Cleveland, the L’Arche community has partnered with musicians, choirs and performers from around our city to create our holiday CD, Home for the Holidays in Cleveland! Each CD is $10 and will allow L’Arche Cleveland to continue to live our mission of making known the gifts of people with developmental disabilities by mutually transforming relationships. We hope to see you there!
The annual collection for the Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD) will take place at Masses on November 22 & 23, 2015. CCHD was founded to end the cycle of poverty in the United States by funding organizations that help individuals help themselves.
With a history of improving education, housing situations and community economic development, CCHD makes a positive impact in communities nationwide. Your contribution will defend human dignity and reach out to those living on the margins. Please give to the CCHD collection.
